What do you mean by self storage?

Self Storage or DIY storage is defined as the direct storage by individuals and companies of goods in their own exclusively occupied, self-contained, secured rooms/spaces, which form the major or primary use within a larger building or complex.

What are your opening times?

We are open 7 days per week and our reception opening hours are: Monday - Friday 08.30-17.30, Saturday 09.00-16.00 and Sunday 10.00-14.00.

Can I move in today?

Yes. If we have an available unit for you and subject to filling out the paperwork, you can move your possessions in straightaway.

What do I need to bring with me to rent a unit?

Two forms of ID to include either your passport, driving license or any other photographic proof.

Are there any hidden costs?

NO, We are full members of the UK Self Storage Association and abide by very stringent trading procedures.

Payment methods?

Your first payment must be either by debit or credit card. Subsequent payments can either be taken by standing order or by automatic monthly withdrawals from your card.

What can’t I store?

We cannot store explosives, firearms, chemicals or compressed gasses. For a full list please contact your nearest branch.

What security measures are in place?

Black hole storage takes security very seriously. You can rest assured that your stored goods are extremely well protected with 24 hour CCTV surveillance, well lit corridors, smoke detectors and regular staff patrols. You are the only person that holds the key to your personal padlock. In addition each branch is connected to the Police and Fire service by BT Redcare.

How can I access my unit?

You can access your unit during work hours, or by prior arrangement.

Yes we sell a wide range of boxes and other packaging materials in every branch.

What about insurance?

Black hole storage removes the hassle of insurance as we can arrange to have goods insured directly at a rate of £4 per £1000 of cover per 28 days.

What is the minimum rental period?

The minimum rental period is 7 days

Do I have to serve notice if I want to leave?

We require two weeks notice prior to your departure.
